Romanesque Architecture

Norman architecture is the best-known illustration of the Romanesque architectural style in England. Contrary to the Romanesque architecture of the French style, it doesn’t feature the use of heavy or monumental structures. Instead, buildings are designed to be more functional. The Romanesque architecture style had an influence on the Romanesque buildings. However, they were not designed to be identical. Rather, the Romanesque architecture in England came about because of local customs and the need for more secure structures in one time of history (the Middle Ages) and the necessity for more utilitarian structures during another (the Renaissance).

The Romanesque fort at Bath and Well is one of the most well-known Romanesque buildings. It was built during the 7th century during the middle of the Common Era. The town was surrounded by walls and housed many people who needed to defend their city from attacks from the invading Vikings. It is important to keep in mind that the city was not originally a fort. It was originally an urban city within a town and was a place where people lived until they were allowed to settle within other townships.

One of the most prominent features in the baths of Bath and Wells is what is known as the Well of Magna. This is the place where the Romanesque aqueducts were channeled. These aqueducts let fresh water be carried in through the porous walls, and then into the fountains, where it would be used for cooking. The walled town included chapels, Roman baths as well as public baths, public baths and the temple. This complex was designed to make use of all of these kinds of water for bathing and also for drainage.

In the area, Romanesque planters are being utilized to create a form of garden furniture. In this case the Romanesque timber has been combined with non-Romanesque materials like oak, ash and walnut. Despite the different materials, this type of architecture has a few of its elements from the Romanesque architecture.

It is still possible to view the walls despite the destruction. The walls were rebuilt with new materials and with an entirely modern style. Cast concrete was used for the construction of the walls.
